Ms. Black

by Alex from Hixson, Tennessee

McConnell Principal Hero

My McConnell hero is the Principal of the school, Ms. Joy Diane Black. Ms. Black was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ms. Black went to college at Mississippi University for Women, Hawaii University, and Treveca University. She earned a Masters in Education degree.

My Hero's favorites are:
flower = Gardenia food = shish kebab
candy = chocolate covered turtles
pet = small dogs

In her early childhood she had a wonderful childhood because in the summer she would go to her family lake house to canoe, swim, and build forts. In elementary school she loved music class and a game called wall-ball. Her greatest accomplishment was adopting her daughter. She demonstrates Hero Characteristics by helping teachers, students, and parents. Interesting places she has been are Germany, Europe, and India.

The reasons why I chose my hero are that she is nice, patient, and loving. Ms. Black cares about every student. She is the best principal I know. Ms. Black has been the Principal at McConnell Elementary School for 14 years. She started as Assistant Principal in 1996.
