My hero is Mattie Stepanek. Mattie is my hero because he wrote six books of poetry and they are all poems of respect. One of Mattie’s books reached The New York Times bestseller lists. At the age of three he started to write poetry!

These are some of the reasons why he is my hero. The first reason is that he is respectful. I think he is very respectful because he wrote six books about respect and he had his very own book made into a CD. That is my main reason that he is my hero. The second reason is that he is smart. He is very smart because he wrote books at the age of three! My third reason is that he is brave. Mattie is brave because he had a bad disease and he died because of it.

Mattie was born on July 17,1990. Mattie died on June 22,2004. Mattie met Ohprah and Jimmy Carter. Mattie was on Good Morning America. Mattie had six books and some of the names are Heartsongs, Journey through Heartsongs, Hope though Heartsongs, Celebrate through Heartsongs, and Loving through Heartsongs.

Mattie is an amazing poet. I think he is amazing at writing poetry. He should always be remembered and always be in your mine. That is why he is my hero.
