A true hero is the one who can be described as faithful and loyal, intelligent and bright. He is someone who will always inspire in anything he does, in any decision he makes, in any word he says. For me,
this hero is the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, because he is a very
intelligent person, a solicitous father, a true patriot, and for many, an
example of heroism.
Ilham Aliyev was born on 24th of December 1961 in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he lives at the moment. His parents were Heydar Aliyev, the 3rd president of Azerbaijan and Zarifa Aliyeva, a remarkable ophthalmologist. He studied International Relations at
Moscow State University and after completing it, he continued as a
postgraduate. Being a very broadminded and educated person, he received a PhD
in history in 1985. Afterwards, he also gave lectures there. Aside from
Azeri, he speaks fluent Turkish, Russian, English and French. I have many reasons for choosing him as my hero. One of them is that he has done a lot of philanthropy through the years. He has improved our social and economical situation and created better life conditions for our people by building new houses and residences for refugees. He has opened a lot of new schools, hospitals, sports and culture centres, built parks, bridges, stadiums, and much more.
Ilham Aliyev has been handed an honourary diploma and a medal for taking an active part in the Parliament Assembly of the European Union in April, 2004. He has also been included on the 2012 list of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People". He has achieved several honourable orders, like Sheikh-ul-Islam, Mubarak-el-Kabir, Romanian 2010 "Person of the Year", the "Sports Legend" award, "International Olympic Committee" award, the "Order of Honour", and several other honours.
I think that our president is a very capable and courageous person, as he shows great success in dealing with our economical and social problems and keeping our nation at peace, as well as taking part in improving education and sports for the young generation. He is very loyal to his motherland, as well as to Islam, as I see a true Muslim in him. I always look up to him and I hope everybody else does, too. As I grow up, I want to improve the lives of others, to help different health foundations and help to solve many global problems. I want to have an eminent place in peoples' hearts and be outstanding. That's when I will have a reason to live in this world - to be a helping hand, just like my hero. Due to all the reasons that I've mentioned in my story, Ilham Aliyev will always remain the most ideal person for me and will forever be my biggest hero.
