Gertrude Warner is the author of the Boxcar Children series. Her mystery series seem real so it seems that you're in the story too.

She is one of my favorite authors and without her I would not have many books to read. I love her books so much that I have probably already read one fourth of all the books. That is why I call her a hero.

As a child, Gertrude Warner used to like things that today's girls like. That includes playing with rag dolls and reading her favorite book, Alice in Wonderland. Gertrude's family was a very musical family and Gertrude enjoyed playing the cello. Mrs. Warner never finished high school due to bad health. Gertrude Warner also liked to pick wildflowers. Her favorite color was violet and that is why she picked violet wildflowers.

The first Boxcar Children book came out in 1942. In 1989, Gertrude Warner died with a life as being a teacher, a member of the Red Cross and other communities.

I found my info at http://www.kidsreads.com/series/series-boxcar-author.
