Pauline in Jamaica for the Peace Corps (Pauline Buzan)

I chose Pauline Shubel Buzan to be my hero. She is 89, and is married to Boris. He is a mural artist. Her favorite moment was when she put rollerblades on and held on to a trolley. That day, it went over a cobblestone path. She said, “It was the most rockiest ride ever!”

Pauline Buzan is heroic to me because she was in the Peace Corps, and she went to a lot of needy places. When she came to California on a Peace Corps mission, she stumbled into Laguna Beach. She loved it so much she decided to stay. After a while, she thought, ”Me and Boris could run a restaurant,” and she did. Before she went in to the Peace Corps, she was a Corporal and a Chief for the Marine Corps. She wore different uniforms for different seasons. For winter her uniform was dark green with a green hat, a tie, and a khaki skirt.

Pauline went to many different places in her lifetime. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up there too. Some places she was sent to on Peace Corps missions were California and Jamaica. Pauline lives in California right now. She has gone many places, including Slovenia (she speaks and teaches Slovenian) and I think she loves to travel.

Pauline has done many things at many different times. She joined the Marine Corps in the year of 1943. Two years later, she got married to Boris. She then had three children named Boris, Heady, and Anna.

I chose Pauline Shubel Buzan to be my hero for many different reasons. One reason is that she is a very nice, kind, brave person that I look up to. Another reason is that she is a person who has helped a lot of people and the world. Also, because she has done a lot for everyone, and I think everyone should look up to her. The biggest reason Pauline is my hero is because she inspires me to do things I would have never thought of.
