SINGAPORE'S "SUPERTREES" BRING NATIONAL GARDENS INTO CITY CENTER

People are dwarfed by the structure of "Supertrees" seen against the financial skyline of Singapore (above) and the Marina Bay Sands (below) on Wednesday June 29, 2011.

These "Supertrees" are vertical gardens, embedded with environmentally sustainable functions and range from 25-50-meters in height, with emphasis placed on the vertical display of tropical flowering climbers, ferns and epiphytes.
