A hero is someone who inspires and influences you. I think a hero is someone who helps others accomplish their dreams. A hero never gives up. My hero is Rick Riordan.

Rick Riordan was born on June 5, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas. He still lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and two sons, Haley and Patrick. Rick Riordan taught English and history for fifteen years. His adult books have won the three top national awards in the mystery genre. These awards are the Edgar, the Shamus, and the Anthony.

Mr. Riordan filled students’ minds with words for fifteen years as a teacher. He is the author of a series of books. That series is called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The books in the series are "The Lightning Thief," "The Sea of Monsters," "The Titans Curse," "The Battle of the Labyrinth," and "The Last Olympian." Three of his books won the top three national awards in the mystery genre. His fiction was featured in Mary Higgins Clark and Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine.

Rick Riordan is a hero because he is an inspiration by writing books. He helps others accomplish their dreams by filling their minds with words. He is a hero because he never gave up or broke down while he was writing. He influences me by writing amazing stories and making me to want to be like him. I look up to Rick Riordan, and he is my hero.
