You may know Jackie Chan as a movie director or an amazing film star but he is more than that. He is a hero to people all around the world including me. He has devoted his life to helping others.

Jackie Chan dedicates his time and money to helping others. He raised 3 million dollars to help the elderly. His main reason to help others is because he grew up in Hong Kong, China and he grew up in poverty and at 17 left and moved to the U.S.

In 1999-2000 Jackie was the highest paid actor in the U.S. and used half of the money to help others. He believes that kids should not have to grow up living life in pain like he did. Jackie is not like any other person. He was born at 12 months instead of 9. He weighed 12 pounds at birth.

Jackie Chan is an amazing and giving person and I believe he will continue to help others throughout his life. He is important to me because he is not like any other movie star in the world. He is generous and kind. Without him, many people around the world may have died, but Jackie tried to help them and that's why he is my hero.
