My hero is Joanne Kathleen Rowling, or J. K. Rowling for short. J. K. Rowling is my hero because I have always liked reading the Harry Potter series for fun when I do not have anything to do. I like reading Harry Potter books a lot and read them almost every day.

Harry Potter books are about a magical world of witches, wizards, and magical creatures. Harry Potter is the son of two of the greatest wizards and witches in the world. When Harry’s parents die, they give him power to live when the evil Lord Voldemort attacks him as a toddler. As he grows up he discovers his magical powers that he has as he goes to the magical school of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he makes new friends, Ron and Hermione, learns spells, potions, a new sport to him called quidditch, and about mythical creatures.

J. K. Rowling is a great writer and has written 7 great books about the young wizard. Apart from writing these books, J. K. Rowling has also become one of the first English dollar billionaire and the 1,062nd richest person in the world. She became rich from writing all of the Harry Potter books. J. K. Rowling has also won awards. Nestle Smarties Book Prize, British Book Award for Children’s Book of the Year, Whitbread Children’s Book of the Year, and was named the author of the year in the 2000 British Book Awards.

Harry Potter Book Series

Her stories were so good that they started to make a movie series about them. This is another reason that she is my hero. If she hadn’t written the books the movies never would have been filmed. I really like the movies (especially Order of the Phoenix), and a lot of people would not know how well she writes and comes up with stories. After writing the last Harry Potter book she said that it is very unlikely that she will write any more, but she might and I am hoping very much that she will keep on writing!
