EARTHKEEPER HERO:
JEFF CORWIN
by Karan from Shelter Bay

My hero is Jeff Corwin. He was born July 11, 1967 in Norwell, Massachusetts. He lives with his daughter Maya and his wife Natasha on an island off the coast of Massachusetts.

Jeff attended Norwell High School. After high school, he went to Bridgewater College. He earned a bachelor of Science in both biology and anthropology.

On March 2, 2007, while filming in Cambodia, Jeff was attacked by an angry elephant. Luckily he only got a broken arm . One of his major accomplishments was his show “Going Wild with Jeff Corwin” which aired between 1997 and 1998. Jeff shows kindness when he lectures kids about animals and he showed smartness when he developed a series of books about animals. Jeff goes to unfamiliar places and is very brave when he interacts with animals.

Jeff teaches us a lot about wildlife and how to be caring toward animals. That’s why he is my hero!
