Inspiration can be found in a pile of junk. Sometimes, you can put it together with a good imagination and invent something.

Thomas Alva Edison was born February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. He was the youngest of seven children. Four of the children survived to be adults. Thomas went to school when he was seven for three months. The teacher in the school thought that Thomas was dumb and told his mother that something was wrong with him. His mother got mad and decided to home school him. Thomas Edison thought of becoming an actor. Thomas enjoyed reading and poetry.

Thomas challenges were that he had poor hearing. Due to Thomas's poor hearing he could not attend secondary school. He could have had surgery but Thomas refused. He thought the peaceful, quiet world helped him think better. Thomas was inspired by his mother because he wanted to prove he was smart like his mom. When Thomas was a teenager he saved a three year old from being killed by a train. He was a telegrapher during the war.
