My hero is Anne Sullivan. She was a special teacher. She grew in an orphanage after her mother died and her father left her and her brother there. Her brother died after they went to the orphanage. Anne was almost blind but begged the head of the orphanage to go to school. She cried to him and said, "Mr. Sanborn, I want to go to school."

She was a good student. After school she went to teach. She taught Helen Keller. Helen Keller was blind and deaf. She didn’t know how to speak, talk, and was very bad behaved. Anne Sullivan helped her and taught her words by doing sign language in Helen’s hands. She taught her and helped her in college.

Helping Helen in college made Anne’s eyes weaker. She read all her books and then spelled it to Helen. She is my hero because she helped a girl that was blind and deaf, and she didn’t stop teaching her even when she could become totally blind.
