In 2006 MY HERO was awarded a Cultural Arts Exchange Grant from the U.S. State Department Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs to introduce the MY HERO Web Site and media arts education skills to students, educators and artists in the Balkans, Senegal and Jordan.

In May 2007, as part of this arts exchange program MY HERO representatives traveled to four Balkan countries -- Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro -- to conduct a series of video and media workshops for the MY HERO/GLOBAL EXCHANGE Project. Presently the MY HERO team is preparing for their initial visits to Senegal and Jordan, and for a return visit to the Balkans to continue this arts exchange program.

Additional support and in-kind donations for this project have come from the following organizations: Wacom, American Film Institute, University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California Irvine, Forest City Enterprises Inc., Laguna College of Art, and Laguna Beach High School.
