Jeanne Meyers is a graduate of the American Film Institute (AFI) and Brown University where she also served as Director of Media Services. As a freelance producer for NBC News, she covered stories around the world, including China, Japan, Europe and Russia. Jeanne is the co-founder and director of The MY HERO Project.
Karen Pritzker is a writer, editor, and literacy advocate. She serves on the Americans for Libraries Council, and co-founded Read to Grow in Connecticut, a program that provides new books and literacy support to new families. She was formerly an editor at both Working Mother Magazine, and McCall’s. Her work has appeared in a range of publications, including Seventeen, Success, and Kirkus Reviews. Karen is a co-founder and producer of The MY HERO Project.
Charles Harper has an extensive background in marketing communications, counseling and management. He has participated in the development of the MY HERO action plan, curriculum guides and communication materials. He has conducted MY HERO workshops for educators and students in the U.S., Canada, Russia and Japan. Charles is Director of Outreach for The MY HERO Project.
Rita Stern has worked as an independent producer in Los Angeles, California developing family entertainment. She has edited films for Merchant Ivory, commercials and cartoons. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries in Los Angeles, California, Palm Beach, Florida, and Martha’s Vineyard. She won an Emmy for her PBS Frontline documentary. She is co-founder of the MY HERO Web site.
Mark Cavanagh is a screenwriter. He founded Youth Vision, Inc., which promotes television by and for kids. A Recipient of the Action for Children’s Television Award, Mr. Cavanagh has directed projects for the National Endowment for the Humanities and the New England Council for the Arts.
Deborah Hare is a published author and high-school English teacher who works at the High School in the Community in New Haven. She has used MY HERO in her classroom and has helped demonstrate the project at international conferences.
